What is this site, and who is it for?

It is a free learning platform about Bitcoin: ordered lessons, hands on labs, a glossary, live network data and a set of calculators. It is built for people who want to understand how bitcoin works, from someone who has never touched it to someone who already runs their own node.

You can read almost everything without signing in. An account only exists to remember where you are.

Who makes this site, and why?

It is an independent educational project, not a company selling a product. It exists because most bitcoin material is either a sales pitch or too technical to start with, and there was room for something in between: plain language with the sources attached.

Does it cost anything? Are there ads?

Accepted Answer

Everything is free: every lesson, every lab, every chart. There are no ads, no paid tier, no affiliate links to exchanges or hardware sellers, and nothing is unlocked by paying. The only thing an account costs you is the data you choose to store: an email address and your progress.

Can I buy or store bitcoin here?

Accepted Answer

No. This site never touches money or coins. There is no wallet, no exchange, no deposit and no withdrawal, and there never will be. It is a place to learn, nothing else. That also means nobody here can ever ask you for a payment. If a message claims otherwise, it is not from us.

Do you give investment advice or price predictions?

Accepted Answer

Never. No price targets, no buy or sell signals, no portfolio suggestions. Where the price appears at all, it is used to explain a mechanism, such as how a fee is calculated. What we do give is the mechanics and the sources, so you can judge the claims yourself.

How does the learning path work, and how long does it take?

You pick a route on the start page, and the lessons are then served in a sensible order. Each lesson is short, ends with a few questions, and links to the sources it leans on. There is no timer and no deadline. Most people read a lesson in five to ten minutes and stop when they want.

What are the ranks, and how do I move up?

There are nine ranks, from the first steps up to the highest one. You move up by answering questions correctly, keeping your accuracy up, finishing lessons and completing labs. Each rank shows exactly which of those four you still need. Ranks are a way to see your own progress. They are not a score compared to anyone else.

What is the certificate worth, and can someone check it?

It says you worked through the material and answered the questions, and it carries a code anyone can check on the site. It is not an official diploma and no institution recognises it. Treat it as a personal marker of what you covered, not as a qualification.

Can I continue where I left off, also on another device?

Accepted Answer

Yes, as long as you are signed in. Your progress is stored with your account, so the same lesson, rank and answer history show up on your phone and your laptop. Without an account you can still read everything, but nothing is remembered after you close the tab.

What if the questions are too hard, or too easy?

A wrong answer costs you nothing: you get the explanation and the question comes back later. If a route feels too basic, jump straight to the lesson list or the labs and skip ahead.

Why do I need an account for some parts?

Only for the parts that have to remember something about you: your progress, your rank, your certificate and the forum. Reading lessons, the glossary, the tools and the live data needs no account.

What data do you store about me?

Accepted Answer

Your email address, the display name you choose, and what you did on the site: lessons finished, answers given, rank and any forum posts. That is all we need to show your progress back to you. No payment details, no wallet addresses, no tracking of you across other websites.

Will you ever ask for my seed phrase or wallet?

Never, under any circumstance. Not by email, not in the forum, not in a support message. There is no field on this site where a seed phrase belongs. Anyone asking you for one is trying to steal from you, whoever they claim to be.

Can I delete my account and my data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Ask for deletion and your account, your progress and your posts are removed. The privacy page explains what happens and how long it takes.

Where do the numbers and sources come from?

Accepted Answer

Factual claims carry a source you can open: the whitepaper, the Bitcoin Core code, a public block explorer or a published study. Network figures come straight from public explorers and are shown with their unit and their timestamp.

How up to date is the live network data?

Accepted Answer

It is fetched when you open the page and every value shows the moment it was read. If a source is unreachable, the page says so instead of quietly showing an old number.

What if something on the site is wrong?

Tell us and it gets corrected. A mistake in an explanation is a bug like any other, and pointing at the source that contradicts us is the fastest way to fix it.

Why does an answer sometimes say we are not sure?

Because some things genuinely are open: estimates vary, studies disagree, or the outcome depends on future choices. Saying so is more useful than a confident answer that cannot be backed up.

Which languages is the site in, and what does the beta label mean?

English and Dutch are written by hand. French, German and Spanish carry a beta label because parts of the interface and the long form lessons are machine translated, so the wording can be rough. The facts and the sources are the same in every language.

Does it work on a phone? Do I need to install anything?

It works in any modern browser, on a phone, tablet or computer. There is no app to install and no extension to add.

What is the forum, and who can join it?

A quiet discussion space that opens once you have finished the material and received your certificate. Keeping it behind that step is deliberate: everyone there shares the same base, so the threads skip the questions the lessons already answer. Price talk, trading and promotion are out of bounds there, like everywhere else on the site.

How does aura work, and what is it for?

Aura is the forum's way of marking useful contributions. Others can flag a post as an insight or as sourced, note that it changed their mind, mark it as busting a myth, or pick it as the best answer, and each of those adds points to the author. It buys nothing and unlocks nothing. It simply rewards the behaviour that makes a discussion worth reading, and you cannot hand it to yourself.

What is the AI assistant connection in the settings?

It lets an AI assistant you already use look things up here on your behalf: search the lessons, open one, check a glossary term or read your own progress. You approve the connection first, and it only ever sees what your own account can see.
